I suck at blogging. I’m really quite terrible at it.
I’d love to blame my less-than-mediocre wordpressing on a lack of time, or my children, or my wife… So I will. The first one. It’s time’s fault. I haven’t had enough time to dedicate to this blog and that’s why it is rarely updated.
Yup. That’s it.
Well, as some of you may know, I have recently found myself with a bit of an abundance of free time and so I’m rededicating myself to the blogging. Time will tell if this keeps, but my intent is honest. I’m going to write something here five days a week, Monday through Friday. To keep myself on track, I’ve decided to categorize each day with a sort of theme to keep me interested.
Mini Mondays will feature a new piece of flash fiction from me to you. I use flash fiction often as a sort of warm-up and I thought I’d share them with you. I use the New York Times rule of 55 words or less. Sometimes they’re very good, other times they suck. You’ll get to decide.
To-Dosday will be my thoughts on writing. I may answer questions or express concerns about technique, or publishing in general. These days will include my methods and processes for writing, creating, editing and publishing.
WTF Wednesdays will be the days I get to bitch and moan about something stupid in the world. Some of you may remember Mr. Wolff… Yeah. It’ll be like that except less dickish. This is the day I give my opinion on dumb.
Thursday Thoughts are review days. In an effort to keep Thursdays separate from Wednesdays, and out of respect for creators, I will only be reviewing books, comics, films and music that I enjoy. This will be an entirely positive review of media that makes me happy.
Fatherhood Fridays were the most requested blog entry. I have two daughters — a two year old and a 10 month old. Fridays will be the days I tell stories and give my two cents on parenting. Warning: I find babies disgusting, even mine.
So that’s what’s coming. If you have an idea on something you’d like me to write about on any of the days, drop me an email at: jamesninness [at] yahoo [dot] com and I’ll see what I can do.
Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoy.
